The West Coast does have its problems. Growth is
one of them. Kaiser, a large HMO, wanted to automate their prescription fulfillment
process to speed this process up and at the same time increase accuracy. Our experience
with prescription fulfillment made Kaiser very comfortable with our suggested solution. We
used our concept we developed for another pharmaceutical company.COREFLEX was fed information about the medication to be dispensed
and the amount. SCS knew the location of all medications. SCS determined how many
containers were needed and the amount per container. SCS printed a label and affixed this
label to each container and then the containers were inserted and married to RFID pucks.
They look like hockey pucks with holes. These containers raced down the conveyors and were
routed to the proper stations for filling. When the prescription was completed, SCS routed
the pucks to the consolidation area where the prescription was assembled and packaged and
shipped.
Seeing TWO, and going on THREE, operations in action is
believing.
